#162 Crossing Borders...
It was time
to move beyond
the barbed wire stretching
as far as the eyes could see,
a line separating two places,
in the culture, the food
the size and shapes and races..
The foreign land awaited
with a promise of love and care,
a little less than the homeland
perhaps, more than my share,
of the setting Sun, and rain water and
sometimes the blue sky..
Someday I will return
if ever I could
to see that smiling face again
to read the skipped pages of the book,
to go back in time
for all the good and the bad
if ever I could...
