I am the heartthrob

of every generation

when they fondly shift

from pencils to pen..

I am an old classic

for the notebook writings

across the country

and classroom bench..

My thin shiny metal point

gives you a smooth write

but be careful for the ink

your shirt may be spoiled..

I am colourful but

more often seen in blue

covered in pale-whitish

thick plastic body

and a metal clip

to hold on to you..

A perfect circle on top

tells my colour for the day

also my feet shows you

the same anyway..

I carry a unique

spongy refill inside of me

with a few drops of ink

my thirst is quenched

for a month entirely..

I have been here for ages

in every household

and will be for days to come

some leave me for better looks

and more colours

some for spoiled attire

and the holding thumb..
